First Trip

This summer has been full of adventure for little Lewis and he loved every minute of it!  He is now a whopping 8 pounds.  The adventure started with his first long car ride.  We drove from salt lake to seattle in one day.  Yep, 11.5 hours of driving and he was great the whole way.  Well, until the last 15 minutes.  He must have know that we were close to our destination.  We stayed at Fiona and Kurts house.  For those of you who don't know these people Fiona is my sister and Kurt is one of my best friends for the better part of 10 years now.  He is like a brother to me.  And no it is not weird to me that my sister and kurt are dating and living together.  I am quite happy for them both.  Kurt is the best guy Fiona could date!  Okay back to Lewis.  Fiona and Kurt have a great big back yard which Lewis loved to run, roll in, and lay in the sun in.  The weather was perfect for the first little bit we were there, but in true seattle form it rained.  That didn't seem to stop Lewis.  Kurt, Fiona, Lewis, and I all went up to Kurt's grandparents place, Oso.  It was a blast.  Kurt and I fished while Lewis tried to follow but he is not too much of a fan of rushing water. So he stayed at camp with Fiona which neither seemed to mind too much. We spent that weekend having so much fun and Lewis came home smellgn like dirt and camp fire.  We all had so much fun that we had to go back the next weekend.  It was even bettter this time.  Why?  Well, the fresh smoked salmon of course.  This time Lewis had a couple friends up there.  All he did was run and chase the other dogs.  Boy was he tired and yes again he smelled like dirt and campfire, but he never complained about it.  I can't imagine of any dog that would complain about that.  Sadly soon after our return we had to return to Salt Lake for school.  So, we pack up the car and drove 11.5 hours home.  Now back in Salt lake we are back in school and church work.

Laying in the grass with his new stick.  He loves to peel the bark off of his sticks.
He is VERY proud of his sticks
Really getting into it!
Fly fishing with Kurt and his grandpa.  His grandpa is a legend in the fly fishing community.  It was a real treat to learn from him.  He is 85 and out fished both Kurt and I.
This was the biggest dog Lewis has ever seen.  But like all other dogs he loved him just the same.  Lewis just likes to make friends where ever he goes.
Mom playing with Lewis.  Her and dad loved Lewis so much that they went out and bought little dachshund puppy.  They got an all black long haired little boy who they named Coal.
The great river we fished early in the morning!
All our gear.
The great smoked salmon.  It was so yummy.

Dad fishing right under two rainbows.
